First founded in 2007, the group debuted with the song Into the New World under SM Entertainment with nine members on August 5, 2007.  The group, though struggling with popularity in the beginning went on to win the nations hearts and earned the title of the Nations Girl Group.  Popular at a time when the boy groups dominated the field, SNSD continued to release hit-after-hit never seeming to slow down.  Now an 8 member group, they are still going strong with their dedication to their group, being one of the first Korean acts to continue on with promoting music while not all under the same company.
