Genres: Paranormal Romance, Horror, Fantasy
The first time I picked up C.L. Wilson I had found myself in the ‘W’ section of a bookstore, I believe Books-a-Million here on the East Coast. There was something about the cover that kind of grabbed my attention because the side was a deep dark purple, something that stood out in the section that had very bright romance-y colors. The back is what made me buy it.
Within a span of about 24 to 48 hours I read through the first book of the Tairen Soul Series, Lord of the Fading Lands and my adventure with C.L. Wilson books. I consumed her works similar to how I tried to consume Twilight the first time I picked up a big chapter book. Although information C.L. Wilson isn’t ready available as other authors, but what is true is that her writing ability to built worlds that consume the reader transporting them to whatever world she is diving into.
She currently has two series, one is complete while the other is only in its second book.
Similar to the throws of Mr. R.R. Martin, C.L. Wilson was about to publish her third installment of the Mystral series when it was postponed due to sickness where she stopped writing. She is back to writing, but is a slow writer overall.
Overall, if you enjoy any romance, fantasy series with a twist of adventure and a slight mystery that keeps you wanting more she is an Author to check out. I believe if any writer wants to learn how to build a world through the romance genre, C.L. Wilson books should be on your list as research material.
