Girls' Generation debuted on August 5, 2007 with the song Into the New World as a 9 member girl group under SM Entertainment. Girls' Generation is often credited with the boost of new girl groups that emerged during the 3rd generation with their debut becoming a foundational training dance for every trainee. Known for being considered the blueprint for success in K-pop and are often credited as one of the groups that helped break into the western market. The group went further than just their albums with all 9 members finding success in whatever they did from acting, variety shows, DJing, as well as to stage plays and musicals. Despite all but four members still at SM Entertainment, the remaining 8 members of SNSD set forth another blueprint of how to work together despite being outside of different companies.
